The COVID-19 pandemic presented significant challenges for music education, requiring educators to navigate uncharted territory. The necessity for creativity and innovative thinking became paramount as music educators sought new approaches and ideas to deliver effective lessons.
The shift to remote learning necessitated a steep learning curve. To ensure successful and engaging learning, as a music educator, I embarked on new skills like video editing software and music arranging tools to suit the completely new teaching approach, recognising the conventional lesson plans would no longer be effective.
Despite these obstacles, I also undertook various initiatives during the lockdown, such as organising virtual concerts, and workshops and collaborating with peers in the field. These efforts aimed to uphold the value and vitality of music education, even in the face of unprecedented challenges.
To prioritize child protection rules and privacy, I am not able to post any virtual concerts I have done before. Below are some examples of teaching videos I created during the lockdown:
